Tips from the pros
- Gmail allows 25 MB, but **attachments grow by about 37% when they are sent** — Google says so itself. 25 MB ÷ 1.37 ≈ 18 MB, which is what we aim for.
- Go over the limit and Gmail removes the attachment and replaces it with a Google Drive link instead. Stay under it if you want a real file to arrive.
- Squeezing a long video into 18 MB costs a lot of quality. Trim to the part that matters and it will look much better.

What happens if I go over 25 MB?
Gmail drops the attachment and inserts a Google Drive link. If you want the file itself to arrive, keep it under the limit.
Does this send the video to Gmail for me?
No. It only makes the file smaller. You attach it yourself.
Could the recipient still not get it?
Yes. Receiving limits are separate and company mail servers are often stricter. Around 10 MB is a safe bet.
