Four promises

No upload

Your video is handled only on your own device. It is never sent anywhere, so you can safely use it with work or school videos.

Just pick

Pick Discord as the place you are sending to, and the size and the picture quality are set for you. There is nothing complicated to set up.

No watermark

Nothing is stamped onto your video, and there is no limit on how many you make.

Picture quality like the pros

We use the numbers people use in video work. If the picture quality is going to drop a lot, we tell you before you save.

How to use it

  1. Choose the video you want to silence.
  2. Under "How do you want to edit it?", pick "Change the volume".
  3. Press "Mute".
  4. Press the button to make the silent version.

Tips from the pros

  • Removing the sound frees up room. If a video is only just over a limit, muting it can be enough.
  • You cannot silence only part of a video. Cutting that section out is usually quicker.
  • Your original file is untouched — the silent version is saved as a new file.

Common questions

How much smaller does it get?

By the size of the soundtrack — roughly 1 to 1.5 MB per minute at typical bitrates.

Does the picture get worse?

The video is rebuilt, so there is a small loss. Choose the "High" quality setting if you want to keep as much as possible.

Can I put the sound back later?

Not here. Keep your original file.

Can I mute just one part?

No. Cut that section out instead, or use a full editor.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything happens inside your browser.
