Tips from the pros
- **Outlook has four different limits depending on how you use it.** Outlook.com in a browser is 25 MB. The desktop app with ordinary mail (POP3/IMAP) is 20 MB, with Exchange 10 MB. Work accounts on Microsoft 365 default to 35 MB, and an administrator can set anywhere from 1 to 150 MB.

Why aim at 18 MB?
Attachments grow by about 37% when sent. 25 MB ÷ 1.37 ≈ 18 MB.
I saw a "34 MB" figure somewhere.
That number appears in no Microsoft document. The closest real value is 33 MB, which applies to Outlook on phones.
Is work mail the same?
Often not — an administrator sets the limit. If it bounces, try around 10 MB.
Does this send the mail for me?
No. It only makes the file smaller. You attach it yourself.
